Valentino | RED Valentino FALL13/14 PREVIEW

Valentino joined this festival season and made such a remark by showing this gorgeous Fall 13/14 collection.

Vermeer's Girl With a Pearl Earring stared out from Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli's mood board this season.

Making a study of white collars, Chiuri and Piccioli added them to many of their familiar looks. The collars came in laser-cut leather encrusted with beads or in "Calvinist" plain cotton piqué, and they decorated the simplest pieces, like long-sleeve A-line shifts in wool and short alpaca coats, as well as more ornate creations, including a tulip embroidered lace gown, and another elaborately traced in a Delft ceramics pattern.

I call this, 'million-dollar baby'
As such a piece of couture-like dress with heavy embellishment ( all by handmade), you could make a guess of its retail price. But definitely, artwork belongs to the 'museum' but not my wardrobe.

'Simplicity' is another key word of this collection.

Clean cuts. Magical realism. Naturalness portrayed. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli observe the paintings by Flemish masters and recognize their undeniable connections with our contemporary world: a glorification of everyday life; serene, self-possessed yet never static femininity; a sense of detail and the pleasure of an aesthetic and cultural métissage; and a taste for colour.

'The corner of spring'

Some of my fav-picks from their spring 2013 collection. Contemporary silhouettes mix with 'Valentino's elegance', just-nice femininity gave a touch of the spring charm.

Here comes to my favourite looks from this Fall 13/14 collection

You know how much you love it!
Guess even the sleeping beauty would wake up for these gorgeous heels!

Unlike Valentino's ultra elegance, RED Valentino definitely is more fun and cheerful.

This season, the REDValentino whimsical ingénue likes:
a walk in the woods, book in hand and crumbs in her pockets.
Gretel’s bows and Hansel’s flannel, undersized sweaters and oversized checks, little capes over littler shorts, never parting ways from her filet socks. Point d’esprit spices her quilts, a sense of protection with an air of fragility. Sweater dressing ‘n dreamy pumps, commanding boots ‘n demure skirts, macro prints ‘n Alpine notes, displacement ‘n surprises. Arabesques blooming in Tyrolean landscapes, colorful embroideries playing allover her wardrobe. Long dresses with flats, short hemlines over heels, riding coats worthy of a comic strip.

Velvet, loden, angora, plaid.

Colour blocking till max!

With the lovely Zean Vo.
